What is a queerator?
A queerator is anyone who brings queerness and creativity to their life and the world around them. Queerators create all sorts of things, from stories and art to movements and spaces to heal. Queerators create change grounded in authentic care for themselves and their communities with anti-racist, empathetic, accessible, trauma-informed spaces. Are you already a queerator?
What is Queerator Academy?
I have struggled to find my people, the space I feel safe to grow and learn and thrive. Throughout my life I have met a couple facilitators, leaders, and educators that have created those spaces. But they can be inconsistent and hard to find. I wanted to make a space for folks passionate queer creatives to grow and thrive, and help others learn new tools and skills and create their own spaces.
To start, Queerator Academy will be a series of classes to introduce folks to the work of connecting to themselves, the world around them, and the creative energy in both of those places. The tools and frameworks are the result of years of studying creativity in a variety of settings with teachers of many mediums and facilitation approaches.
Eventually, I plan to build the Queerator Academy into a place where queer folks can share their passions, create new things, and build community.
